Chicks or Eggs First?

A topic which has been discussed for so long: Chick or Egg, which comes first? Finally, the answer is here. I've taken this article from The Sun Online.

BOFFINS have revealed the chicken DID come before the egg after all.

Scientists cracked the age-old puzzle after discovering the formation of eggs is only possible thanks to a protein found in chicken's ovaries.

That means eggs have to be formed in chickens.

The protein — called ovocledidin-17 (OC-17) — speeds up the development of the shell.

Researchers from Sheffield and Warwick universities LAID out their findings in the paper 'Structural Control of Crystal Nuclei by an Eggshell Protein'.

They used a super computer to zoom in on the formation of an egg and realised the protein is vital in kick-starting the crystallisation process.

It works by converting calcium carbonate into calcite crystals which makes up the egg shell.

Dr Colin Freeman, from Sheffield University's Department of Engineering Materials, said: "It had long been suspected that the egg came first but now we have the scientific proof that shows that in fact the chicken came first.

"The protein had been identified before and it was linked to egg formation but by examining it closely we have been able to see how it controls the process.

"It's very interesting to find that different types of avian species seem to have a variation of the protein that does the same job."

It is hoped the discovery leads to the invention of new materials.

I Hate LEE CHEE YUAN

People say, think simple, don't make things complicated. I do believe that, that's why I keep everything simple. Everything seems to be fine. Things go smoothly. Unfortunately, as time goes by, I start to feel that not everything can be simple. The simpler the thing appears to be, the more complicated it is actually.

People say when you have love, you loss your friendship. I'm too innocent to believe that love and friendship can live together. What a silly thinking! Initially, there was only small problem, I chose to keep friendship simple, don't stay too close with friends. I thought problem can be settled like that. I'm too innocent! Now, lover and friends are threatening me. I don't want to loss my friends, I even don't want to loss my lover. I struggling so hard! My lover feels disappointed towards me, my friends say that they don't want to stay in the same class with me next semester... Can you imagine how pain my heart was the moment I hear that? Nobody knows, unless you experienced it before.

Laughing to myself, I really don't know how am I going to proceed. Who can teach me?

May be all of you are right, I'm noob, I'm stupid...

I hate myself, I hate God even more, gives me fake hope, bringing me to the paradise, then tells me the truth, pushing me from paradise to the hell.

Critical Moment versus Hide-and-Seek

Critical moment for a woodpecker: Hide or Die. Two choices, that's all.

Thinking of playing hide-and-seek? You may think so, but not for these two. I mean between a prey and predator.

Funny? Nope! Nature is always cruel. Preys have to protect and defend themselves, but most of them failed and get eaten.

You may wonder how long the eagle and the woodpecker going to stay like this. Actually I don't know. For sure, it won't be long. Eagles don't have patience. As long as it doesn't realize on the position of the woodpecker, for a short period, it will give up hunting the woodpecker.

So, Remain Still or Game Over......

River Under the Sea

This amazing picture were taken by the professional diver Anatoly Beloshchin in the cave Cenote Angelita, Mexico. Here' what he said:

We are 30 meters deep in fresh water, then 60 meters deep in salty water and under me I see a river, island and fallen leaves Actually, the river which you can see, is a layer of hydrogen sulfide. It must be an unforgettable feeling once you’re there and see it with your own eyes.

Innovative Mouse Trap

Innovative!!! You know? This mouse trap can actually attract mouse to get inside and then kill the mouse with the poison hiding inside. Then, the user can pull the string to tighten up the opening, making it into a pot. There's seed hiding at the bottom of this mouse trap. When the dead mouse decomposes, it provides nutrients to the plant to grow. You can actually keep it at your garden or balcony. Wow, what a good idea huh???

Internship = Headache

I went to internship briefing this evening. Our batch is going for internship (MGT3888) in coming September. This internship period will end in December, which means we need to attend internship program for 16 weeks, equivalent to 4 months. Now, the problem arises, which company to choose? Am I able to apply what we learnt in real life situation? Will I get a pass for this program? How much salary I aim for? Should I consider a near company or a far one? Too many questions surround my mind. Headache!!!

I saw a grasshopper on the table just now. Without wasting time, i grabbed my camera and the grasshopper became my "model".

Down, down, down, down, down...

I went for enrolment on monday morning. I got to know my result for past semester on the spot. I'm truly disappointed on the result. It's far from my target to achieve first class honour degree. I really wish that I dont have to pay back the PTPTN loan. I didn't have any mood for my meal yesterday. I kept on thinking. A conclusion is drawn: No more relaxing this semester. All efforts will be put on my academic. I will fight for it this semester. CHEE YUAN IS GOING TO LOCK HIMSELF IN THE ROOM, DOING REVISION ALL THE TIME. I swear!

On the other hand, I helped my family to book flight ticket to Tawau, Sabah next month. Unfortunately, during the period they go to Tawau, I'll be in my 6th week, which I expect the first test is around. In addition, I can't skip classes for 4 days continuously. I really wish to go there for photo shooting. When can I get an opportunity?

By the way, i saw a spider lying on my timetable today afternoon. Out of curiousity, I shoot few photos on it. Below is the version which I've edited. Please provide some comments so that I can learn from it.
